PHP Array: Sorting an Array in Ascending Order

The sort() function sorts the elements of an indexed array in ascending order (alphabetically or from lowest to highest number). This function assigns new keys starting from 0 to the elements.

EXAMPLE

$fruits = ["Melons", "Blueberries", "Pineapple", "Strawberries", "Raspberries"];
sort($fruits);

echo "Fruits in alphabetical order (ascending):\n";
foreach ($fruits as $key => $value) {

}

$numbers = [13, 871, 43, 6742, 1, 23, 952];
sort($numbers);
