The array_udiff_uassoc() Function

The array_udiff_uassoc() function gives you total control. You provide two functions: one for key comparison and another for value comparison. This is necessary when your keys are complex or require specific type casting.

EXAMPLE

function compare_keys($k1, $k2) { return (int)$k1 <=> (int)$k2; }
function compare_values($v1, $v2) { return strcmp($v1, $v2); }

$config_old = [10 => "Apache", 20 => "MySQL"];
$config_new = ["10" => "Apache", 20 => "MariaDB"];

// Key 10 matches (cast to int), value Apache matches -> excluded.
// Key 20 matches, but value MySQL != MariaDB -> remains.
$diff = array_udiff_uassoc($config_old, $config_new, "compare_values", "compare_keys");
