Sorting Data with the ORDER BY Clause

The ORDER BY clause is used to sort results. By default, they are sorted in ascending order (ASC), but you can sort them in descending order (DESC). Try changing ASC to DESC manually in the simulator below and click the run button!

ASC indicates an ascending order (from A to Z, from 1 to 100).

DESC indicates a descending order (from Z to A, from 100 to 1).
